Content[]

Advice[]

In each episode, the brothers take questions from listeners. Questions are submitted to the show via e-mail, although early on in the show's run, the brothers also took submissions via Formspring, Twitter, and even voicemail.

During live shows, in addition to answering questions that were emailed in beforehand, the brothers also accept questions from audience members during the show. Some formats include alternating between lines at mics in the aisle of the theater, having two audience members ask their question and the brothers choose their favorite or the one they think they be able to give advice on. This was phased out in favor of pre-submissions with a teaser for the question and a seat number.

Topics[]

The brothers often find themselves coming back to familiar themes during the show, of which Horses and Ghosts are the most common, and hold a special place in the hearts of both the brothers and their fans.

Intro[]

Disclaimer[]

From Episode 18 onward, the show has opened with a disclaimer message read by friend of the show Bob Ball. During live shows, this message is often read aloud by their father, Clint.

“The McElroy brothers are not experts and their advice should never be followed. Travis claims he's a "sexpert," but if there's a degree on his wall, I haven't seen it. Also, this show isn't for kids, which I mention only so the babies out there will know how cool they are for listening. What's up, you cool baby?”
— Bob Ball

Intro Music[]

The brothers have used several different songs to open the program over the years:

Yahoo![]

Prior to the demise of Yahoo! Answers, the brothers regularly answered questions asked by users there, and submitted to the show by fans. A list of some of the more prolific submitters (often referred to on this wiki as Yahoo Warriors) and the number of their submissions that have been read on-air can be found here.

Wizard of the Cloud[]

In more recent episodes, the brothers instead approach the Wizard of the Cloud, in which Griffin reads through a WikiHow article to educate his brothers and the listeners about how to perform essential everyday tasks, such as fending off coyotes or the proper way to savor a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. A full list of these can be found here.

Segments[]

In addition to doling out advice, the show features several recurring segments, such as the long-running Munch Squad, in which Justin relays the latest in fast food innovation.

Characters[]

Various characters have come and gone over the show's history, such as fan favorites Amelie and Count Donut. You can find a list of all major characters appearing on the show here.

The Money Zone[]

When MBMBaM joined the Maximum Fun Network, they introduced the Money Zone segment, in which they read advertisements from sponsors that help fund each episode's creation. They have some recurring sponsors that surprisingly haven't been scared off by the boys' um... creative ad reads. A list of those sponsors can be browsed here.

Final Yahoo![]

At the end of each episode in the Yahoo! era, Griffin read a final question for the brothers to ponder over and discuss at the start of the next episode. A list of every final question can be found here.
